I am a fan of free and of odd roadside attractions. This attraction is free and odd. Cooked up by local politicians to bring in more tourists to Rapid City in the 1930s - the politicians didn't bother hiring a real artist as the dinosaurs are rather simple creations. Little kids enjoy it though.

This park itself is not spectacular but is a great little walk/hike and at the top is a spectacular view of both sides of the city. (Go at sunset!). The dinosaurs are large and old-school, but give you a great idea of how large they were in real life. It's a fun easy thing to do with family, teenagers, friends,... More

it was cool to get out after a long day of driving and stretch out for a few. Doesn't hurt that it is free!!

A bit off the main street, but once you see that dinosaur staring down at you from high on a hill, you have to find the correct street to the top of that hill. There is a large parking lot, a nice gift shop with plenty of must haves, clean restrooms, seating inside and out, and a nice snack bar,... More

Keep in mind it's free. But the over look is beautiful. Go at night and you can see the town light up on both sides. Make sure you drive down skyline drive.

I give the Dinosaur Park an Excellent rating because my kids absolutely love it! It's one of the most memorable parts of our trips to Rapid City for them. There really isn't anything exciting about it for adults, but the kids sure seem to enjoy it. We will visit every time we are in the area!

I've been going to Dinosaur park since I was little. Not only are the Dinosaurs pretty cool to stand by, the view is amazing. The City does need to improve the road up there but it's passable. The little gift shop at the top has some unique gifts. Bring your Christmas shopping list and get some real fun gifts for... More

I've been to Dinosaur Park many times since 2006 and I have to say, when you get up to the top of the hill, I swear you can say for greater than 50 miles in any direction! I would recommend this to anyone who is travelling this summer to Rapid City Black Hills region, who would like to go out... More

We were traveling in the area on vacation with the grandchildren on the way to Mt. Rushmore and stopped for coffee. We saw signs and went over to take the kids to the park. This was a great place we took pictures and they limbed all over the displays. The view from the mountain was also good for adults. Since... More
