Petting Farm

The kids always love a petting farm so you really can't go wrong. They have a very large and nice set up. The only negative was the prices seemed pretty high.

Old McDonalds Farm is a low key exposure to farm animals that is suitable for kids and adults for a hands on exposure to farm animals.

Kids really enjoyed this place. Much better if you miss the main crowd as you get to help feed baby animals and have more free reign. Very hands on and interactive. Go here each time we visit Rapid City, just a neat experience.

We were able to come down for the Fall festival this year. Our three year old had a blast! Wish there were more pumpkin options though in the patch. We came early in the fall festival and it was already picked over.

every Saturday in October is a special day for the kids. From pony rides to a train with cars made from 55 Gal drums to face-painting. It is all here. Some of the areas are open to the visitors and kids and adults can enter the pens and pet the inhabitants. Kids had a great time petting and feeding goats,... More

This place isn't cheap but we did have a lot of fun. Our granddaughter got to feed the goats (purchased the food), take a pony ride (pay), ride the train (pay) and fed the calves and lambs, held some week old chicks and sat with the lambs for awhile- she acted like a real farm girl and she has never... They have a pretty nice set up for little ones. They can see goats, cows, chickens, etc... my kids when they were little loved going there. They have nice campgrounds very close.

Had never been there, but had a pass that I bought on the KBHB Summertime Fun auction and we went. I was surprised, as we have a ranch, how much time we ended up spending there and my boys loved it, especially the goats and chickens. It is very well maintained, clean, and a very friendly staff (who all spoke... More

My wife, 5 year old daughter and I had passed by this attraction many times during our visit to Rushmore (it's on the main highway to Keystone and Mount Rushmore) and had finally decided to stop and see what it was all about. Wow! Curiosity killed the cat!!! And my wallet!! This place is way over priced. $30+ for this?... More

Our 10 and 6 year old sons loved this place. We went on a quiet day, so they had opportunities to bottle feed baby animals and pick up baby goats. Great experience for them, something they can't do often.
