Although not easy to find (3rd floor of a building at the college), it is a good museum with plenty of reproductions of ancient animals such as a mosasaur and plesiosaur. There were also excellent specimens of rocks and crystals. The fossils and models reminded...More

We decided to stop by this museum which was a nice surprise. Staff is so friendly and helpful. It is not very large so you could go through it in 30-60 minutes. Free parking, free admission, nice displays and gift shop.

Looking for something to do on a rainy day? Or any day. Spend 2 hours here. The most impressive thing is that most of the fossils are from the area. Nice mineral display?

Small but interesting museum with great geology and fossil exhibits. Exhibits are a bit old but very informative. You probably won't find a better collection of rocks, gems and minerals. It's off the beaten path at SD School of Mines & Technology. The building itself...More
