We were in town for five days and were trying to see some of the other (non-Black Hills) attractions. We came upon the Chapel almost by accident. What a beautiful memorial to one’s parents! You will learn a very interesting history behind this Chapel. In addition, you will experience a wonderfully peaceful dwelling, not to mention its architectural appeal and... More

A really beautiful church. A true example of crafty woodsmanship. I have seen the original in Norway and this is as beautiful as that.

I don't know how I missed this on my previous trip to rapid city. It is tucked away in the hills. Peaceful.

This place is so awesome and tranquil. The carving in, on and around the chapel is exquisite. When you go inside the chapel a recording comes on and explains things about the chapel and the builders. Take a moment to sit and listen to the recording. There is a great little log cabin as a museum with Ole and Lean... More

My niece had her wedding here. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful setting. This is the best outdoor wedding site I could imagine.

This is an amazing structure. A not-to-miss place if you are visiting from out of town. We really enjoyed our visit/tour. It is just too bad that the town allowed houses to be built right up to the property line so you have a view of people's ugly back yards.

This Chapel in a treat in every way for meditation and peace w/ learning if one hasn't experienced and doesn't know much about Scandinavian wooden churches. Nice people greet and share info, and a definite must for a bit of peace on a busy vacation.

This is the most beautiful church I have ever seen. You walk at your leisure. It is a place to reflect and search within yourself. There is a path for those who would like some time to connect with God. There is a small building that had some Slav tools, clothes and so forth. Free will offering and there is... More

The place has not changed and is very quaint and great place to have a small intimate wedding. This is a Norwegian Stave Church with rich history.
