Good to see the historic buildings. Stores are loaded with the usual tourist souvenirs, t-shirts, etc., etc. Look past that at the architecture and historic sites, some of which are marked along the way. Unless you are really, really into the Old West, 1 hr....More

Lots to see, many shops to visit, and daily replays of historic gun fights! Plenty of historic hotels, bars, and restaurants to keep you busy or be your home base for local exploration.

Deadwood, where "Wild" Bill Hickok was killed. A lot of gift stores and bars with other stores thrown in. Steep street that is 3 blocks long. depending on when/why you're here, Deadwood could be very busy and very crowded.

The shops are the gift shops you see in many places, but the buildings are old and very well kept or renovated in the period.

I watched the Deadwood TV series years ago so I had to stop by. I was really surprised to find how accurate the storyline was. The place has a great atmosphere.

The downtown area does a great job of mixing history with unique shops, restaurants and other things to see and do. Be sure and stop by the saloon where Wild BIll Hickok was shot. Very Interesting.

A lot of neat little stores and historic sites to walk through. Beautiful Black Hills rising up around it gives a picturesque backdrop.

This is a beautiful old town with a lot of history . There's places to eat and a lot to see . We spent at least seven hours in this town and I don't think we saw everything.

In June when we visited across the street from The #1 Saloon there was a courtyard with stage w/musicians performing on Saturday. I'm guessing this was a regular happening. Band sounded good too! We were all invested in... More
