Great old town full of history and great architecture. It has a new wonderful visitors center with very helpful people. Sadly though the town is very touristy. The parts we loved were the old buildings, the quaint shops, the train station. Unfortunately all the museums...More

Deadwood was looking pretty dead when we visited which meant easy parking and no queuing for anything. The main street is picturesque but because most everything there was gambling and drinking related - not much of real interest. The various casinos etc were all looking...More

If you are looking for some history of the old west forget it here. Yes the town has some old buildings mostly nasty bars. Just about every building is a casino. It was a great disappointment for us, there was nothing to see or do...More

The town is dressed up very nicely. There are several places to see. My wife and I spent two full days in Deadwood and never ran out of things to do.

Historic Old Town Deadwood was a little unexpected for me. I expected it to be touristy but not the sheer amount of casinos and bars present. Probably a little less family friendly that I anticipated. Some placards mentioning the history of the town scattered about....More

They have actors that do skits a couple times a day involved live fireing (shooting blanks) to keep the excitement up. this main street is full of great tourist stores while keeping it's history in the old buildings.

Nice place to visit. Cool history. Casinos in most part, are a little run down and could use a refresh. They should look at Blackhawk, CO as an example. More historic stuff down town would be nice also.

We stayed in Deadwood for 2 nights whilst on a Road Trip. I would say that was long enough for us but we did like the little town. It was just one long road with many touristy shops, restaurants and bars down it. The shootout...More

Could only spend about 15 minutes here as short of time for coach. Would have spent much longer. Felt just like it should, old wood, separate waiting rooms for gents and ladies etc etc. Tiny window for ticket office. Fabulous. Staff helpful and volunteered information.

Deadwood is a cute little town that makes for a nice walk. It has an "Old West" feel but is very contemporary with lots of shops, Casinos and the like. There are well marked signs for public parking garages. We enjoyed just wandering around for...More

In June when we visited across the street from The #1 Saloon there was a courtyard with stage w/musicians performing on Saturday. I'm guessing this was a regular happening. Band sounded good too! We were all invested in... More
