We've seen a lot of cathedrals in our travels, but this one was very different and spectacular... not only in the archetecture, but also in the way they worship and the way that beliefs syncronize.

Lampa is a must place to stop over for 1-2 hours, the town shows the real life in Andes, quiet, very villange like, just stroll around and you will feel great. The Cathedral and its history are amazing, strange for such a small town. The guide we had within the Cathedral was the best guide we had in all of... More

We got a private taxi there and back. The church was decorated in so many little trinkets and artifacts it's hard to see the walls in places. At the altar to the right is an alcove dedicated to dolls of every colour, size and dress. Very colourful. We paid the 10 sol to look around the crypts underneath the church.... More

We stayed in Lampa for one night during our cycling tour of Peru and Bolivia and I found it to be the most fascinating of all the small towns we visited. During the Spanish colonial era Lampa was an important mining and trading center but it is largely by passed nowadays with the building of highways that connect the larger... More

Lampa is a charming little town in the middle of the altiplano. It is just 30 minutes from the Juliaca airport and a great visit before you head into Puno and Lake Titicaca. The town has a beautiful church which has many surprises. The guide was very informative and gave us a great tour. The best part was the full... More

The drive through the altiplano brings you to Lampa. What a surprise. A charming well maintained town square AND a church which is beautiful from the outside and inside as well. The doors may be locked butif you call the telephone number on the door a young lady will come with an enormous bunch of keys and let you in.... More
