The mission of Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation is to protect and preserve the culture, tradition and living heritage of the North American Indians. The Foundation demonstrates its commitment to this endeavor by continuing the progress on the world's largest sculptural undertaking by carving a memorial of Lakota leader Crazy Horse; by providing educational and cultural programming; by acting as a repository for American Indian artifacts, arts and crafts through the INDIAN MUSEUM OF NORTH AMERICA(R) and the NATIVE AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL & CULTURAL CENTER(R); and by establishing and operating the INDIAN UNIVERSITY OF NORTH AMERICA(R) and, when practical, a medical training center for American Indians.

Great visitor centre which communicated well the inspiration behind this monument and the Herculean efforts of the family who have made it their lives' work (and beyond) to see the vision realised. The foundation's resolution not to accept federal or state money is quite moving...More

Still in progress. Nice view, helpful staff. Don't miss the chance to see laser show at night which started 9pm and if by chance you planning to come back next day- ask for rain check.

Leaving Mt Rushmore we travelled a short distance to see Crazy Horse. If you are in this area do not miss this attraction. The Visitors Centre told many stories of the Indians way of life. You can take a bus out to the mountain carving.

Starting with the Carving of Crazy Horse, it was so very spectacular! To bad it won't be done in my life time. It is outrageous, it make Rushmore look small for sure. They have some of the most beautiful Indian artifacts! We spent a couple...More
