I'm an engineer and really love geography - the happenstance that brought us out to the Black Hills fortunately brought us to several of these magical spots - 100th meridian, 45th parallel, centre of the nation and geographic centre of North America - all within...More

We are so happy we found this area. the town is beautiful. The monument is perfect. Must visit the free museum, so much to see for a small museum. take the time and talk with the staff, very friendly and knowledgeable.

Nice spot for a small town. They have a visitor center/museum which highlights the Center of the Nation (the entire country including Alaska and Hawaii). It is actually 20 miles north in the middle of a field....but this is the designated monument. Close enough!

It is what it is. If you enjoy things like this they have it displayed nicely. The monument is free and there is a small museum on-site that has a small fee.

They don't really have any activities, but they do have nice walking trails. It's a nice place to take photos and relax.
