I drink a lot of iced tea and had never thought of how it is produced. Go and take the tour and lean and enjoy.

I had no idea how Tea is grown or made, and this was just fascinating to me. We had a great guide that was so nice and knowledgeable he enjoyed answering all our questions with enthusiasm. The ladies in the store where so kind and helpful. The samples of teas where delicious. I would recommend going!

Having Scot grandparents, I grew up drinking tea. While our husbands toured the USS Yorktown, my friend and I took a tour of the plantation and it didn't disappoint. Absolutely worth the drive to Wadmalaw Island. The driver of the trolley was VERY informative and answered all the questions. Who knew that the health benefits of GREEN TEA is a... More

An opportunity to see tea plants in this unique plantation located in an area with ideal conditions for the growth of real tea bushes (Camellia sinensis). Tea samples and factory tour are free. Trolley tour is extra, but worth it.

I didn't know how tea was produced and visiting Charleston Tea Plantation was great fun. There was a short movie and the factory tour was both interesting and fun. All aspects of tea production were explained and you can drink all the hot and cold tea you want. You can also take a trolley ride through the fields but, unfortunately,... More

We drove out from Charleston. Not a very long drive. There's a visitor's center and gift shop. They offer a trolley tour around the plantation (very bumpy!). Interesting to learn about how tea is grown and harvested. One stop at the green house. Also an automated tour in the factory. The tea is good and flavorful; they offer hot and... More

The only tea plantation in North America. Slow trolley ride around the property that is very informative and allows you to take in the beauty.

Did not know that the Charleston Tea Plantation was the only place where Tea was grown in the USA besides Hawaii. Very informative and friendly staff to help educate one on tea. Well worth the visit to off beat place with significant history. Highly recommend the bus tour around the plantation.

I would of never heard of this place except for hearing a guy talk about it on the trolley ride. It is free unless you want ti take the trolley ride through the tea fields which I recommend. also tour the factory. best time is after the beginning of may when they are harvesting the leaves
