This is the only Tea farm in the US. Acres and acres of tea plants and an informative trolley tour make this a nice way to spend a few hours. The tour guide explained the history of the plant here in the US, how it is grown and how it is harvested. He was very knowledgeable and was able to... More

My family had one day to spend in Charleston on a road trip and we decided to stop here. Our kids are 10,8,6,3 and all love tea. The grounds of this plantation are gorgeous and the staff was all super friendly! They have a beautiful gift shop also, and free tea sampling. We took the trolley tour with Bob (who... More

About an hour ride from Isle of Palms where we were staying-delightful ride; beautiful trip. Free tour nicely done and just the right length. Highly recommend the trolley tour and worth the $10. The driver Bob was a delight!! Gift shop was great and all the staff were FUN and not pushy but very knowledgeable! I would go again!! Learned... More

We learned a lot about tea and how it is made. Interesting to know its the only of its kind in the US. Had a great gift shop with a lot of lovely gifts and south carolinian things.

The only tea plantation in the US, this is a fun stop. We were there in January, so not much was happening, but it was very interesting to see how things are done (and how they vary from other tea plantations) and taste the various teas. The trolley tour, at just $10, was worth it for two people.

We were surprised at how much we enjoyed our trip to the Charleston Tea Plantation. It was a lovely site, and the trolley-based tour was quite informative. Lots of teas to sample, both hot and iced in the tour center. If you're going from downtown Charleston, call Ross of Ross Tours to take you, and ask him to stop at... More

There is a good little tour inside the welcome center which demonstrates the processing of tea after the harvest. If you have time for the outside guided tour by vehicle, then that is quite interesting and provides just the right amount of details. Afterwards, there are different teas to sample and great gifts to purchase in their unusually good store.

We were hesitant to visit the tea plantation since it's a little bit farther out from the city and we only had 2 days to spend in Charleston. In the end I quite liked it and don't regret the visit. My favorite part was the free unlimited tea samples in the gift shop. The factory tour is indeed brief (you... More

We understand that it can be a bit of a trek, and we so appreciate the visitors who come out to see us on beautiful Wadmalaw. Unfortunately we can only process tea during the harvest... More

Even if you are not a tea drinker you should find it interesting. History of tea in the US and tea tasting are the primary activities. If you go in late Oct early Nov you can see the blooms.

I learned so much about tea here! It is quite fascinating to me to learn about how tea is made and to be able to see the tea plants and the factory. We did not get to go on the tour of the plantation for two reasons. 1. we got there too late and were about to close. and 2.... More

Hi there! Thanks so much for your kind words! We're glad to hear that you found the tea production process so fascinating- we sure do! We're sorry, however, that you didn't have a chance to take the trolley tour; it is a favorite activity among our visitors, even children! Thank you again, we hope you will come again sometime and...
