I have lived here for almost 2 years now and finally got around to visiting this hidden gem on a warm spring Saturday afternoon. The home, which was built in 1765, was the home of Charles and Mary Moore and their 10 children. Charles was...More

Pros: The tour guide for the 'house tour' of the out-buildings and the outside of the house was very nice and informative. Knew a lot about the revolutionary war history of the house. The groundskeeper was super friendly and gave us another tour of the...More

I LOVE history and Walnut Grove is a little piece of it. The house is Old and sometimes shows it's age but the people who work here love it and it shows.

Great little place for any history buff to spend an afternoon. We enjoyed it and learned more about our American history. Staff and tour guides were pleasant and informative. Allow at least two hours for the tour and viewing the site.... don't forget the cemetery!

Nicely preserved grounds and buildings. The historic working plantation shows how simple life was, and how difficult. It is worth spending the time to wander the site, see the buildings and the family cemetery. It could be better taken care of, but the grounds look...More

Whilst the house was smaller than we were expecting the history was fascinating. As Brits we have most of our knowledge from television so it was fab to be given a personal tour as we were the only people there on the afternoon we went....More

I guess I was surprised how small this "plantation" house is. I didn't realize that not all owners were rich. Interesting inside on everyday life on a plantation.

This house and grounds are Revolutionary War remnants, much older than we expected, but in pretty good condition thanks to ongoing restoration. The grounds were beautiful and the guide was really informative and interesting.

I do not work there, but I seem to recall that they do. I would give them a call directly.
