Worth a trip to see this piece of Gullah history. They really need to spend a bit more on the marketing side of this historic gem. But worth a visit and they do need the support.

Interesting place believed to be an early if not the first school for emancipated African Americans. Martin Luther King visited there, Visit the interesting graves which include several notable people.

We, a family with all ages, thoroughly enjoyed it! The 82 year old volunteer in the welcome center was delightful! Don't miss this! Enjoyed exploring area on our own.
