We (an older couple from the Netherlands) were given a leaflet about this museum, thought it would be interesting. We had to pass a security control, which we thought was regular for tourists, because the museum is on a base. We were asked many questions,...More

The Parris Island Museum is a comprehensive museum of the history of the Marine Ccorps. It is well-researched and attractively displayed. The museum also has a section on the history of the area during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. This is well worth a visit.

Friends recommended that we visit this museum while in the area. It was time well spent. They have a good display about the history of this area. The displays and movie about the Marine Corps and the boot camp at Parris Island were excellent.

I am a Stanley Kubrick fan (Full Metal Jacket) so being in the area, I wanted to check out the museum. A well-armed Marine dressed in a camouflage outfit met our car at the gate. We were required to submit passports, car ownership, insurance &...More

First, we both love good museums and take our time when visiting. This museum does a great job explaining the history of the Port Royal/Beaufort area (including Parris Island). Lots of artifacts including and as you might expect, lots of weaponry. This museum offers so...More
