Charleston best store when it comes to used books, new books. They have vynil records that go back to my childhood! Talk a kit flashback to the early 80’s! I love this store. There is a big selection of DVD’s and Blu-ray movies and you can find just about any movie here, whether it’s an oldie to a current one they have it all. Their art section is amazing! Sketch books from steampunk to Asian art to tarot art and so much more. The children’s section is full of great books for any age. I love their comic book section they have comic books from the 90’s and back to the early 80’s. If you’ve never been here you need to come see this store! I promise you will return over and over. They never disappoint. My son enjoys the bargain book sale they have outside just about every weekend. Sign up to their email list you will get emails about upcoming events, sales, flash sales, and more. Great store, great inventory. Great staff. Located by Tanger outlets it’s the perfect spot.

I don't understand the latest bad review. I travel here sometimes and stay usually couple hours. Staff always very helpful and attentive but laid back and let you shop. Place is full of things to check out. I have never left empty handed and wish I had one closer to my home.

I once was a regular patron, but due to the rudeness and awful customer service - they've lost one of their best customers. I won't be back.

huge used bookstore with comics, music, and collectibles. I have to limit myself to a single armload when I go. Great way to kill several hours

When I travel through different states or countries, I like to pick up a local cookbook. Found this place online and decided to stop in before heading out of Charleston. Normally, you find these bookstores "hidden in the heart of downtown" or sandwiched between the art studio and "homemade fudge" shop. So seeing that it was in a mall, I was somewhat skeptical, but I didn't feel like battling traffic or parking in downtown Charleston. First of all, it's not a bunch of used books that are carelessly thrown around or sort of organized depending on how much time the owner has. It's big, it's clean, but best of all it's CHEAP. By cheap, I mean that I intended on buying one SC cookbook. I bought 4. Oh and I bought 2 other cookbooks. And yeah, let's not forget the seven or eight history books. Most books were $4-$6 dollars. I did splurge on a $10 book. For reference- James Peterson's Glorious French Food cost me over $30 online. This bookstore has it for EIGHT DOLLARS! Jon Meachem's Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power- EIGHT DOLLARS! (or close to it) Yeah, I wish I lived in the area and when I come back, this will be on the MUST do list. To heck with the Plantations, Fort Sumter, and all the restaurants. J/K! In my excitement, I would be remiss to forget the VERY friendly staff. Doesn't matter how good the business is if the staff is rude and unhelpful. Not a problem at Mr. K's!
