Stopped by to check out the park because relatives had visited there this summer and thought it was wonderful. The park is spacious, with picnic grounds, public restrooms and the beach on the south side. We were happy to find out we could walk our...More

We went here because it had locker rooms and a picnic area, both of which were great. I just went on the beach, but my husband explored the park more (while our daughter napped in the stroller!) and was amazed by all the wildlife, including...More

This is a wonderful State Park to camp in. We like to stay in the furthest ring out because there is more shade and more privacy between sites.

Went just before labor day and pleased to find an empty beach with lots of parking. Car to beach not too bad unless you have a lot of gear. Nice shower to hit on the way back to the car. Went to Myrtle Beach state...More

We stopped here on a whim. We paid the entrance fee but were unsure if it would be worth the price. It was, the marsh walk was enjoyable and we saw osprey, bald eagles, alligators and many aquatic birds. We didn't stay long but thoroughly...More

Great place for me to walk when the tide is low. Already the crowds are somewhat diminished. No dogs allowed on the north end due to the fragile bird and nesting population. Now if people would realize how dangerous not refilling the holes they dug,...More

One of my most favorite places. The beach is one of the most beautiful you will ever see. Have camped all over the USA and this is tops.

Loved the boardwalks, which are all very well maintained, and bring you into the main spillways and refuge areas to follow the wood storks and egrets and herons. The interpretive signs are getting worn and old though, need $$ infusion. Incredible bird sightings, even a...More

This was a beautiful, clean State Park with plenty to do! This was a mother/daughters (2) trip and we were here August 21-28. There is a quiet, clean beach, walking trails, clean bathhouses, covered shelter houses with plenty of picnic tables, outdoor shower stations and...More

This was probably the cleanest beach I have seen and what a beautiful day I love the fact that you can just relax with out having a lot of noise all around you. You can walk for miles

According to the park rangers they are separate from the guests in the marshland. We were worried about that too but never seen one on the beach. The beach is like a mile from the marshland separated by a strip of land. I... More

The alligators can be seen anytime, they particularly like to 'sun' themselves out on the tiny island. A good location for viewing is on the overlook.

If you reserved the site, then it should be yours. I have seen tents blended in with RV sites multiple times in our travels there. I don't see it should be a problem. If you are concerned, you could call them, but... More
