Took a ride to the State Park. They have a nice walk way out into the marsh where there were many different types of wildlife to look at. Enjoyed watching the oysters spit. Saw Blue Herons, White Cranes, Egrets, Hawks, Ducks, Mussels, Squirels. Then went to the beach and collected some shells. Went to the castle and took the tour.... More

First time visiting Huntington Beach State park- the beach is just beautiful! Big, flat, great for walking. The trails are nice but not that scenic.Plenty of parking. The Marsh Boardwalk is vey nice for birdwatching and nature. I will return to explore other areas and will recommend for a nice day of hiking or a day at the beach.

My sister and I came hoping to see wild alligators. It was a cooler day and we didn't see any this time unfortunately (my sister had seen 4 on her previous visit). There are tons of walking trails, a bunch of different types of big birds, and lots of peace and quiet this time of year. It was $5 each... More

We stayed at the campground with our camping club and enjoyed the wide beach, the clean facilities, biking and walking trails, and even the presence of an interesting architectural site, Atalaya. While enjoying the outdoors, one also has proximity to good restaurants and entertainment, shopping, etc. This is a popular park among the SC system and it is obvious why.... More

Huntington Beach is an awesome place and the home of Archer and Anna Huntington is quite an experience. Anna was a famous sculptor who created magnificent sculptures of animals. She loved the wildlife that could be found in the surrounding lands. You will have to look up Anna and read about her. But a visit there is something you won't... More

With a campground, beach, picnic area trails and lots of parking; this is a great way to spend an afternoon or a whole day.

This is a nice, clean comparatively un-crowded beach. I believe you are charged by the car-load, so do carpool if possible. There are picnic tables and restroom facilities.

We drove into the park and felt it was a bit pricey since we were not going to use the beach at all. They should have separate prices for with or without beach use. We did not know that was the location of the Atalaya castle but walked around all 30 outside rooms and found it very interesting.

Finally had a chance to tour Atalaya and the park. Beautiful beach and very interesting historical facts about the Huntington's and their generous spirit. Wish we had gone sooner.
