My husband and I prefer this beach over the other local spot, Ocean Lakes Family Campground, because it is easier to access and not as crowded. Plus, we liked the scenery better here. However, those traveling with children will probably prefer Ocean Lakes because it's more affordable for a larger group, and kids would probably enjoy Ocean Lakes more because... More

The beach was amazing I actually swam today, it was beautiful and not crowded, some fisherman and kayakers. The marsh was a photographers paradise. Wish I could have had more time only got 3 hours on our way home to NJ

Clean Beach--not overcrowded with bike and hiking paths. Lots of natural wildlife habitats to view at safe distances. Public restrooms and gift shop as well as picnic areas & a shelter for use by reservation.

This is a wonderful park that enables you to escape the crowds and noises of the Grand Strand and commune with the beauty of nature. As a resident of SC, I am proud that my state has acquired and maintains this jewel. From quiet inlets and creeks with nice wooden walkways and piers to a three mile deserted oceanfront beach... Great beach for fishing. Paved jetties a short walk away. Good Flounder run in late summer. Garden City Fishing Pier is a 10 minute drive. Large, clean beach for the family too. The property has walking trails that allow you to view water fowl, fish, alligators and marsh life; a photographer's paradise. The Atalaya is an attraction on the property... More

Very lovely. Information on all types of art and botanicals. It is great if you are looking to get away from the Beach and do something different! Also has a zoo with animals indigenous to our area and a butterfly area. A must see if staying in the south end of Myrtle Beach!

This is such a beautiful area. There is something for everyone. If you love the marsh birds like egrets, herons and ibises this is the place for you. How about alligators that sometimes cross the road in front of you are lay up on the shore. You can also walk the boardwalk and watch the tide go in and out... More

It's a great relaxing place to be. Camping and a nice Beach front. Away from the crowded water front in Myrtle.

We didn't get to explore the park much because we came late in the evening (trying to enjoy our last day of vacation before evacuations for hurricane matthew), but without a doubt this was the best stretch of beachfront we visited the whole week. It was quiet and clean.
