The campground offers nice size campsites. I really liked that most sites had plenty of shade. The check in procedure at the well stocked camp store was easy as I had a reservation. The bathhouse was clean but "tired" and in need of a facelift....More

Camping and cabins available. Some tent spots without electric. Sites with hookup $22/night. Camp store with wifi & variety of supplies. No live bait, however. They don't allow you to fish with corn or minnows, but night crawlers are fine. Two fishing lakes. The one...More

Oconee state park is one of my favorite places to visit, all year round. In the summer, you're able to rent paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks. You're also able to play mini golf. In the winter, they still offer the canoes. There are multiple hiking...More

We stopped here for two nights and rode Moonshiners 28! It was a great ride. The park doesn't answer their phone. We were arriving late and couldn't reach anyone all day. The site online was described as level and a pull through. It was neither....More

We visited this park to hike to Hidden Falls. Wasn't a crazy long hike but I would rank it as a moderate difficulty trail. The waterfall itself wasn't that impressive, but it's always nice to check out a new fall.

We camped at site 18 in an RV. This was a great site! We were on the lake with lots of trees, and a ton of room. Only had a neighbor on one side of us so lots of privacy. The whole campground was very...More

Not much to do in the fall. Hike a few minutes and left. Unless you are a camper, this is a pass. Very small park. We kept looking for the rest of it.

You would need to check with SC state parks. They have a reservation website.
I'm looking at staying at a rustic campsite. They have two groupings: one near the parking lot and one near the lake. I'm wondering if anyone knows how close the lake sites are to the water. Would we be able to see the lake from our site, or have to hike through some trees to get there? It's a longer hike into the lake sites, so I'd only want to stay there if we have the benefit of being right on the water. Thanks!

Hi! Didn't stay in the campground this trip through, only was there for a beautiful day. You can call the park directly at 864-638-5353. I'm sure they could answer your question. Have a great time!
