Created on the site of Jackson's boyhood home, this park offers history and recreational opportunities. It has a very nice picnic shelter for gatherings, open spaces, and historical buildings. Visitors can learn about the former President at the museum, take a walk or just breathe in some fresh air.

We checked out this park on Presidents' Day but even with many people out of work there were very few people there. It was a lovely day and the two short (1 mile long each) hikes were very easy to do even with three children under five. I will say that the trails are very filled with roots and many... More

State parks are always great to experience. It was a perfect day for it! The only downside (and frustrating part) is that the trails are not marked by name of the trail. It just indicated "nature trail" and not the name of the trail as indicated on the map or the length of the trail. However, the trail around the... More

It was a perfect day to visit the park. Late January and 64 degrees. The park was not crowded and almost had the place to my own. Walked the wonderful lake and watched just 1 duck in the water. Walked the nature trail too. Enjoyed the attractions. Props to Laura in he museum/office. She was brilliant and so helpful with... More

This is a small campground with some 25 places, full hook up. The campgroud is part of a more bigger set-up dedicated to Andrew Jackson, former American president. The office is intricated into a small museum. There is a path in the wood, about 1 mile, that survey his life. The campground is nice, paved road, clean toilet, and a... More

A nice place to learn more about Andrew Jackson's childhood. Nature Trail provided a nice walk around the property & 1/2 way through the trail was a picnic area which was nice. Small museum, located within the ranger station/visitor center, provides information of Andrew Jackson from childhood to death.

I love this park. There is a variety of things to do. There are shelters and facilities to rent. It's a great place to have a birthday party, family reunion or even showers. If you love nature, try Andrew Jackson State Park.

Nice place to visit for a afternoon trip. Has a beautiful lake. You can rent a boat or take a walk around it on a dedicated walking/hiking trail. Park has very nice playground for the kids. Also has a large green area to play with dogs or kids up near the old home place of Andrew Jackson. This park is... More
