This is my second visit in the last 5 years. The home is well maintained and the visitors center has wonderful exhibits on nature.

If you want to understand some of the rich history of the low country including the early economy, the connection to slavery, and the ecology and biology of the area, you will enjoy this center and the tour. It takes at least 2.5-3 hours so do not do this if you are in a hurry. You will only get a... More

We had a very informative visit to Hobcaw Barony. Both our driver/guide, Stuart and the house docent, Sue were extremely knowledgeable and solicited and answered numerous questions. We started with a movie that provided background as to what we were going to see. We learned how Bernard Baruch, from New York City, visited and bought approximately 70,000 acres for $3.15... More

The visitor's center is nice, but the guided tour of the property is one the highlights of our trips to the area. The history surrounding this property and family is a piece of history we would never have known otherwise, and it's very fascinating. We recommend this for history buffs, environmentalists, and anyone interested in a glimpse of this area... More

We took the intro tour and found it very interesting. It's great what they are doing there with the research and preservation. They offer other tours that I would like to do also. You don't really get out in the nature part on this tour but during the fall and spring they offer that. Here you get some history during... More

Visiting Hobcaw Barony has been on my to do list since moving to the area and finally made it. We did the 2 hour Introductory Tour which is primarily a bus ride around a small part of the Barony with a stop and guided tour of the estate. The history of the Baruch's was very interesting and would recommend it... More

We recently visited Hobcaw Barony. We had driven by for years and had never stopped. So we booked the introductory tour & got the 2 hour visit to the property including the Baruch country estate. I had expected a little more from the tour but enjoyed the visit & the opportunity to learn about the history of the place.
