Nestled amid beautiful lakes and hardwood forests, the Anne Springs Close Greenway is a natural preserve more than twice the size of Central Park, minutes south of Charlotte in Fort Mill, SC. Its 2,100 acres serve as a natural buffer from urban development and provide a wide open space for countless activities – from hiking, biking and horseback riding to picnics, kayaking and more. The land has ties to the Catawba Indians and the Civil War and has been permanently preserved for public use. The Greenway contains native plants and animals, historic buildings, a 40 mile network of trails, a recreation center and facilities for weddings and other special events. As a non-profit organization, it depends on memberships, program fees as well as private donations to support annual operations. Main entrances include Lake Haigler, Dairy Barn, Adventure Road and the Recreation Complex, all of which provide additional information and trail maps.

Unbelievable outdoor space so closer to the city. 2100 acres with hiking, mountain bike and horse trails. Lakes for fishing and kayak rentals. Thursday evenings in summer have a band with beer, wine, food trucks.

The only water falls that I am aware of in the Greenway is the spill way from lake Haggler (spelling?). Access off highway 21 opposite Colthrup road. Once you get to the earth dam, there is a small trail that leads down to... More
