A beautiful historic home and museum. It closes at 5pm, but it's packed with lots of stuff! Tons of memorabilia on the civil war and confederate military. Definitely worth the trip if you're into the civil war.

The thing I loved most about this museum is the amount of pictures they have of the soldiers from that area that fought in the Civil War. They also have a lot of civil war artifacts. Definitely worth a visit.

A lot of local artifacts have been donated from the surrounding area. The place needs to be freshened up. It could use a good dusting, but it is interesting. Nice, local museum.

This historic home is packed with memorabilia from the war between the states. It is nicely displayed but has no accommodations for wheelchairs as the upstairs access is the original steps of the home. The museum caretaker was wonderful and gave lots of information that was not readily available. Loved it. It is very affordable and has so much to... More

This is a great little museum about a very important war. We found it very enjoyable and very informative! We liked the fact that it was in a home and parking was no issue! The gift shop was nice and we surely found plenty to purchase!! GREAT deal.....got to visit when in Florence!

This is an amazing small historic museum! The exhibits are fascinating.there is a real sense of history here. It gives remarkable insight into the war between the Nirth and South. The curator was so knowledgeable. There are also some great books available for purchase at the museum. Don't miss the opportunity to see this little hidden treasure of a museum!

I visited the War Between the States museum while spending a day in Florence. The museum is located in a two-story house in a residential area which makes it an odd place for it to be located. There is a gravel lot adjacent to the museum where you can park. The museum itself is only open two days a week,... More

The exhibits were carefully gathered. The building in which they are housed and the location leave much to be desired. I learned quite a bit and am glad we went but do not feel a need to go back. We spent about an hour at the museum. These exhibits really do need to be put in a place worthy of... More

This is a must see stop when you are in Florence, SC. I have been going to the WBTS Museum since 1998. You will find artifacts on display that you will find in no other museum. The research library is top notch. The museum director will help you in your research. If you think you had an ancestor that served... More

Very good in its collection of weapons, naval information(CSS pee dee) table model of the Florence stockade. This is where you get information of stockade. Displays of cannon projectiles. Uniforms, etc. have books which can give information on units located in area during civil war. Not a cheesy museum. Has items for sale from model cannons to flags.
