Not crowded and very nice beach

We were really surprised by how nice it was and what a short walk up the beach did to give you great privacy. It's a really nice swimming beach....great visit.

...with your honey, holding hands of course :) My wife and I were on a delayed honeymoon trip, with another couple traveling with us. Water was a little too cool for her to swim, but great for walking along the edge of the surf. Shells galore if you are a collector. Park admission is $5 per adult. But there is... More

If you enjoy long strolls along the beach looking for sea shells, Edisto is the place for you. Park at the state park, walk out to the beach, turn left and enjoy! Paved parking, clean restrooms and picnic tables are a plus!

I love this park! There are plenty of picnic areas with grills, clean bathrooms, and outside shower and a couple of changing rooms. When I went in September, the beach was not crowded at all, at some times nearly deserted. It was so beautiful. I didn't go to the campground, so I don't know how that is, but the rest... More

This is one of our favorite South Carolina State Parks. We camp in the Live Oaks Campground that borders the marsh rather than the beach area. The beach sites are small and too close to each other. The sites in Live Oaks are much larger and located under wonderful Live Oaks with Spanish Moss. There are a number of really... More

Every couple of years or so, we get out to Edisto Island. It's not often, because it's quite a hike, even from Charleston, and we don't get to Charleston too often, but when we do, it's nice. The last time we were there was on July 4th, and the State Park was packed. This time we went and it was... More

Edisto Beach State Park is a wonderful area. There is only a short walk from the parking area to the beach. The camping is usually reserved a year in advance since it is a great place to camp. Bathrooms are clean and well lit. A play area is available in the wooded section near the camping. During late July/Early August... More

My husband and I ride our motorcycles and had a one night camping trip here at Edisto. It was a very relaxing time. The beach was beautiful and the wooded area for campers was very beautiful!
