Like Wall Drug in S. Dakota, and Rock City in NC, South of the Border is archetypal roadside American kitsch. You have to accept "SOB" for what it is and enjoy it for that. Run down or not, it's a sight to behold and definitely...More

This place is a dump. We reserved 2 nights at the RV park, so the kids could enjoy the amusement park. The amusement park is in ruins. Some rides are taken part and others have weeds growing through them. It's like a ghost town. The...More

Indeed, almost a ghost town. We passed through due to the hundreds (okay, the tens upon tens) of billboards advertising South of the Border. The ride area was completely shut down. The buildings were not up to shape. But there was plenty of parking for...More

Wowza. It's like 1950! Shady late night. No adults working the restaurant so it's not really run well. But worth taking pictures and laughing

Nothing fancy but a reasonably clean campground with all the amenities except cable, away from the freeway and surrounded with ....well Pedroland. Will definitely use again. Price-right.

at 2 am. Traveling through on the morning of July 4th. Thankfully Fort Pedro was open ALL NIGHT to fulfill my fireworks need. Got a quick look around and hauled butt out of there. Looking forward to a DAY TIME visit next.

Used Camp Pedro for overnight rv stop. Full hookup 50 amp, paved pad with nice grass but narrow roads. Campground is ok but the sewer treatment is directly next to it. If you are close to it pump noise is very loud. We stayed to...More

The kids liked it. The ice cream was great! Great place to stop and use the restrooms. Great place to take pictures of kids by statues. A bit of a tourist trap. Lots of cheaply made merchandise but if the kids are needing a break...More

Totally pet-friendly. Just make sure you ask for a pet friendly room when you make your reservation, or get to the front desk. The pet-friendly rooms are just as clean as the no pets rooms. Mine had a sliding glass door in... More
