Appreciated the photography exhibition. The Museum is undergoing some construction so there was a significant discount. Sr discount for the in-laws. Student discount for the teenagers. Just the Mrs's and I at the construction discount.

I was disappointed that I visited in this time of renewal. They offered some sketches by Henri Mattese and some amazing wall size charcoal sketches of portraits of every day people.

The Columbia Museum of Art does an outstanding job of exhibiting art. They just had a splendid exhibit of the book illustrations of Henry Matisse. There was also a fine display of the art of Renee Cox, a more contemporary artist. Though part of the...More

Two exhibits while we were there (upstairs is undergoing a renovation/construction project), but seeing Matisse and Renee Cox made for a fun and informative morning. Free audio tours made it a bargain and a cultural highlight.

The permanent exhibits are closed until late-2018. Unless the special exhibit is particularly interesting to you, this museum is probably not worth the cost of admission until it fully reopens.

When I consulted the museum’s website, it seemed to suggest that at least part of the collection would be accessible. This is not the case. Only a temporary exhibition of Matisse lithographs was open. I felt cheated: Admission should have been free and not simply...More

We visited during Eclipse Weekend 2017 and were, at first, disappointed to learn that most of the galleries were closed for renovation. Despite that we spend an enjoyable two hours strolling through the creatively and cleverly organized exhibits: "That 70s Show" and "Retooled". As NYC...More
