We planned to visit Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on Saturday,October 15th for their Trinity Bazaar. It is held every year from 10:00 -2:00 PM. It is so well planned and takes place on several floors on the church. We spent a lot of time in the gym where the books and treasures were sold. Earlier there had been beautiful furniture, lamps,... I didn't get a chance to enter the building, but toured the attached cemetery. Being well versed in SC history, I found the experience sublime and humbling. Many favorite sons and daughters of SC are buried here. Although, a long read, I would recommend Mary Boykin Chestnut's Civil War Diary, as edited by C Vann Woodward to appreciate some of... More

General Wade Hampton and his family are kind of a big deal here in Columbia. Being a Hampton, and thinking somewhere along the line we may be related, I wanted to go see their final resting spots. So I visited the cemetery next to Trinity Episcopal Church. It was beautiful, eerie and depressing. Some of these bodies have been here... More

When we drove through Columbia city, this beautiful church drew our attention and we decided to pull over and visit. The main chamber is magnificent and a gentleman introduced the history to us. The yard is nice, good for party and ceremony.

They were preparing for a wedding when we arrived. We didn't realize you can only tour till 2pm. But on of the ladies gave us a quick walk through anyway. It is a pretty church, pretty stained glass windows.

Visited here recently for an evening wedding. Had visited once before and again, such a beautiful church. It is a "pinkish" color on the exterior. Interior stained glass large windows, closed pew rows that are seldom seen today and historic, beautiful ceiling treatments which are amazing. Even the connected auditorium had wonderful wooden corbels and beams in ceiling areas. Occupies... More

Outside and inside this is a beautiful old church across the street from the State House in the heart of Columbia. Surrounded by a graveyard with historic graves.

We were not able to tour the Cathedral as we were too late for the tours. We did, however, take a very slow and respective stroll through the cemetery. It was so interesting to see the range of dates on the markers and headstones. Beautiful.

The interior of the cathedral is beautiful. Spend a few minutes or longer strolling through the historic cemetery.
