Our guide, Bill Stanton, was so knowledgeable. A question about the smallest detail led to a wonderful tale of history and people. The time flew.

We went on the "alley" tour with Jim. We enjoyed learning about the history of the city through the buildings (and not the museum buildings).

The tour took us off the beaten path during our stay in historic Charleston. We learned a lot from our guide while taking in the beauty of the architecture and gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jim was very personable and knowledgeable on many facets of the city. I left the tour 2 hours later knowing all kinds of interesting things about Charleston's and the region's history, architecture, people, nature, oddities, and more. Would highly recommend!

We were entertained and educated for two hours on historical figures, architectural garden gates, and Charleston insights. He is a licensed tour guide and can be contacted at bill@lowcountrywalkingtours,com. We...More

Highly recommend using this company for your walking tour while in Charleston. My wife and I took the Alleys & Hidden Passages. Our tour guide, Bill Stanton, was very knowledgeable and personable. He was the reason why the tour was a success.

Thank you for your question! All of our tours are conducted outside and while we are frequently stopping to hear the stories, we do not usually have any opportunities to actually sit down. Hope that helps!

I don't think it would be too strenuous for seniors, but I'm not sure an 8-year old would be all that enthralled (unless he/she was into southern history). If that young person is a boy, consider visiting the retired US Navy... More
