We spent three hours here looking for shells and other artifacts from Fort Sumter washed up on shore. It's very quiet, very deserted and lovely. There are no facilities on the island so come prepared for that. You are in the harbor of Charleston but...More

We had a fun day enjoying Morris Island. We took the hike out to the beach and the lighthouse. It is a long hike out but, well worth the time as the views are spectacular. The beach is quiet and very clean. And it was...More

It was a very nice view. We enjoyed the Walk to the Lighthouse and having the ability to see it. I am very infatuated with light houses and try to see all I can during my travels.

For me this lighthouse and beach combine the elements that make Charleston a popular destination: history, beach and nature. Granted, it is a bit remote and you definitely need to be able to hike from Folly Beach. Parking is a bit of a challenge. We've...More

After driving in some extremely slow bumper to bumper traffic we arrive to find gates closed an no entry to the road leading to the lighthouse. It was raining and no way to see the lighthouse even from the beach. Disappointed.

We took a trip to Morris Island via Charleston Outdoor Adventures. They took us through the estuaries near Folly Beach to the lighthouse. We enjoyed seeing the light, and there were some neat shells to be found.

you can only get to Morris Island by boat, and you cant even get near the lighthouse unless it's low tide, but just to see it and know the history is really cool, Plus there are dolphins!

This lighthouse is beautiful but it takes some effort to get to. I would not recommend if you aren't able to walk far distances. It's tucked away but definitely a Charleston treasure.

You can see the Morris Island Lighthouse from several places in Charleston. The best place to see it without a boat is on the north tip of Folly Beach. If you want to get a closer look you will have to take a boat there....More

This trip was so worth it! The parking can be a bit challenging, but once you get a spot, it is a short walk through the park to the area where you can best view the lighthouse. The area is also nice for a picnic....More

We used Charleston Outdoor Adventures for our trip to Morris Island. You would need to ask a tour company whether or not animals are allowed on their boats and/or the island!
