Our guide Trip gave stopped along the way and gave us great information. We learned SO much and even saw dolphins. When we got to Morris island I was in awe of all the shells. I found an awesome conch shell. I would take this...More

As mentioned in other reviews, you can park and walk up a 1/4 mile stretch of pavement to the beach area. A word of warning, there is NO cover from the sun so, on a hot summer day, that short walk can be brutal for...More

I went in winter so the lighthouse was inaccessible by boat but it was still very nice! We walked down to the water's edge through the park and while a bit of a walk it was definitely worth it. The beach was quiet and offered...More

About 1/4 mile down paved road to the beach. Lighthouse is out in the water but easily seen. Nice beach as well. We were able to take some really good pictures of it. Worth the walk.

The best way to see this lighthouse is to take the Eco-Cruise offered by Charleston Outdoor Adventures! It was a lot of fun and very educational!

Park the car and take the half mile hike to view the lighthouse. They are in the third stage (I believe) of preservation. I have been here several times and each time I marvel that this light is still standing.

As a Charleston native I make this stop every trip home.. We bring friends and family often when we get over to Folly Beach and are near The Morris Island Lighthouse.

Looks nice from a distance. Great photo opps from the beach, but you can't get to it without a boat. Even then, you can't go inside. The lighthouse is still being worked on in phases based on funding. The walk to the beach is neat...seeing...More

If you want a great view of the Lighthouse, just drive to Folly Beach and turn left at the only red light and drive until it is a dead end! Then walk the sandy path to the end (yes, it's not a short walk) to...More

We used Charleston Outdoor Adventures for our trip to Morris Island. You would need to ask a tour company whether or not animals are allowed on their boats and/or the island!
