This lighthouse / beach combination is what makes the Charleston area lovely - a combination of the beach and a bit of history. Note: it is hidden and 8-10 minute walk to the beach to see the lighthouse. We had no problem parking in the...More

Charleston Outdoor Adventures offers a very enjoyable trip to the lighthouse. During the boat ride we saw plenty of birds, quite a few dolphins, a loggerhead turtle & a black/white spoonbill. The lighthouse itself was just off the shoreline & as the tide was going...More

Came here half an hour before the sunset. There's a parking lot nearby which you can pay via phone (the zone is 8463). After a short walk you'll end up at one of the most beautiful beaches you'll see. Dead trees add to the mystique...More

I know they are in the process of renovating Morris Island Lighthouse, and I'm sure that it will be more interesting once that is complete. I liked seeing it, but nothing blew me away about it. The lighthouse can only be accessed by boat. It...More

This is a brief walk on a sandy path to the shore, where you can see Morris Island Lighthouse across the water. There's a beach with driftwood and rocks with breakers.

Not really. The base is no longer really connected to land, and it is rather unsafe to boot. That said, I don't think anyone is really watching it on a regular basis, so if you took a small boat/paddleboard/kayak/etc over... More

I think it would be a beautiful spot for any photo. But remember you have to walk about a quarter of a mile to get to the spot so in the heat of a Charleston summer it may be quite hot and it is on the ocean so it will be... More
