He said the inside was spectacular so we made a point of going back after the walking tour. It's nice inside but I don't feel it's a must see and was happy it was free to look or I really might have been disappointed. If...More

The Dock Street Theater is located in the heart of the French Quarter in Charleston. The Dock Street Theater is the first theater in the United States. Still a working theater, open daily for self guided tours. Incredibly well preserved and a magnificent building. Free...More

Avenue Q is a cute play performed by muppet-sized puppets. The director made the unusual decision to put spotlights not only on the puppets but also on the puppeteers, so not only was there no attempt to hide their faces, they were actually featured along...More

Exceptional and fun. Last night my husband and I saw the Charleston Stage Production of Avenue Q at the Dock Street Theater. The theater seats are comfortable and viewing is unobstructed. The actors were superb and the production was first rate. We highly recommend seeing...More

We have regularly attended Charleston Stage productions at the Dock Street theater since moving to Myrtle Beach at the end of 2004 and they keep getting better and better with superb acting and staging. Although we saw “Helium” about 6 years ago, this latest production...More

We have been living in Charleston (via Boston) for over eight years and have enjoyed going to numerous great shows at the Dock Street Theater. “Helium” ranks right up there with the best we have ever seen thanks to an incredible story written by Julian...More

Saw a play - Helium. It was very good. Staff friendly and very helpful! The seats are not comfortable. Last 30min was very unpleasant. I doubt we will go back due seats.

My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed Dock Street Theater's take on the Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol. It was delightfully funny with just the right amount of emotion. The actors did a phenomenal job, and the children were exceptional. Kudos to the music director for...More

We didn't get a chance to see a play, but we had a look inside and talked to the very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman at the desk. It is a beautiful historical theatre - well worth a visit.
