If you are looking for a quiet day of peaceful enjoyment that is 20 minutes off the peninsula, this place is for you. I love the plantations but this place is so less crowded. Of course, there is no plantation there but lots of history, animals and beautiful grounds to stroll. The museum was much more than we expected and... More

Expect a lot of walking unless you want to wait on the tram that comes around. It drops visitors off at a few locations so you will still be walking a good bit. Their animal park is great but some of the animals will be hiding in the heat of the day so go early or late for best chances... More

We visited this park today & walked the 3 mile history tour & the garden tour & also went through the museum exhibition in the visitors center. This place is situated on the site of the original colony founded in 1670 before it was moved down to the peninsula in Charleston. You can visit a replicated fort complete with cannon.... More

I took my class of 3rd graders to Charlestowne landing and they loved it. Later I took my parents and adult siblings while they were visiting and they enjoyed the visit as well.

It was a very hot day when we visited. A fairly large alligator was sunbathing on the bank of the lake. It was fascinating. We enjoyed seeing the ship and wandering around the site. We could see the Ravenel Bridge from here. It was sombre to see the seats in memory of the firemen who lost their lives. We liked... More

We were guests at a wedding here and could not believe how gorgeous the venue is. The food was outstanding and the service top notch as well. Parking was easy and you just cannot beat the setting!

It is a great place to visit and spend the day by yourselves or with your kids. Miniature zoo can offer surprisingly variation of animals in almost natural habitat. Me and my wife live within half a mile from the park and visit it at least 6 times a week for the last 15 years!

The address in GPS did not take us to the park, so we checked GPS for parks nearby and got adequate directions. Take water or purchase it in the shop before heading out. There are tables with umbrellas outside the entrance (as you would go in reverse around the site). The walkways are paved, so they are adequate for strollers,... More

The explainers were very friendly and knowledgeable. Grounds are gorgeous. It was extremely hot the day we went - would've enjoyed it more if we went on a cooler day. Museum and intro room are VERY well done.
