I went to see my not-so-little-anymore cousin march in the last parade of the year with his class. We ended up sitting next to the library director who told us that the pipe band was one of the few to march in the Edinborough Military tattoo and we were all rightfully impressed. If you're going to watch the parade, take... More

Having read several Pat Conroy novels prior to our trip to Charleston I wanted to visit The Citadel. It does not take long to walk around and get a feel for this military academy. Seeing the large sized Citadel Ring was very interesting as was a visit to the bookstore. This might not be a place everyone might bother with... More

My husband went to the Citadel and therefore I wanted to see it. There's also a gift shop and free parking.

We merely drove thru the grounds but it was well worth driving thru since the access was easy and only 10 minutes from downtown. All white buildings were impressive

Plan your weekend to go on Friday afternoon to see the dress parade with the Corps of Cadets. Last about an hour. There are bleachers to sit in. Or, stand under the trees on the opposite side to get a close up view of the corps. Beautiful historic campus on the banks of the Ashley River. Nothing like a typical... More

We had heard not to miss the opportunity to see The Citadel. We were so happy to visit and walk the grounds. It was great to see the history there and to view the cadets during their daily routine. Unfortunately, there was no parade the week we went due to the holidays. Hopefully on our next visit we can catch... More

My son attends this wonderful college! He is thriving and is on The Road Less Traveled to his future! We did Pre-Knob and my son said this is the place for him! This college is a great fit for our son who is on the Air Force track to be commissioned upon graduation! Go visit the campus and get a... More

From 2006/2010 we were @ the Citadel four times a year. My son now is a alumni and is soaring to the top as he is a USMC Captain. Great school . You work hard for every achievement. The Summeral Guards will groom you to listen and perform on command.

After some friends from the Charleston area told us we needed to see the Friday parade, we looked on-line and got the schedule. There is no cost and students on site are very helpful in finding parking and answering question. The parade was about 30-45 minutes. Well worth the visit. They welcome you to walk around campus too.
