Great aquarium with nation's tallest salt water tank. Great hands-on experiences for kids. Turtles, gators, sea otters, bald eagle, other rescued animals, in addition to the many fish species. Mesmerizing jelly fish tanks. Multilevel architecture (elevator and escalators) right on the water, beautiful panoramic views. Tranquil respite when touring city.

Our daughter loves wildlife but especially sea life. This was our first time to go to this aquarium. We were pleasantly surprised by how educational and accessible all the exhibits were. The staff really took time with the kids and it really was a great learning experience. Fantastic!

This was a very different aquarium. It was more like a little taste of all life in South Carolina. I would recommend this and go back here.

For perspective, our family has visited the large Atlanta aquarium as well as the tiny National Aquarium (that has since closed down) in Washington DC. My kids, 12 and 5 loved this aquarium. It had plenty of touch and learn opportunities for them and my 12 year old daughter (massive animal lover) had lots of questions that never went unanswered... More

Aquarium was nice and cool. Had great assortment of animals to see. Wheelchair accessible. Great place to go during a rainy or hot Charleston day. Nice large aquarium but not too crowded. Friendly staff.

This aquarium has a sea turtle hospital that will be moving upstairs to the public for turtles that cannot be released back to the ocean. My husband was particularly enraptured by the bald eagle that also cannot go back to the wild. The big tank with sharks, turtles and fish of all kinds, allows scuba diving to feed the fish... More

We went at 4:00 and missed all the crowds! The staff were so helpful and informative. We had the whole aquarium to ourselves which was amazing! They have birds, fish, an albino gator, and lots of great things. I highly recommend to visit!!

For the cost of the entrance ticket I was expecting a lot more! I have been to several aquariums around the country and found the $24.95 for adults to be a bit much. Stopping to take picture and just watching the fish in only one large tank took us a half hour. Only bonus is, I can check it off... More

Very experienced and excited about their careers. Have a way to draw in children to ask questions about specimens and be excited about their visit. Plenty of species to entertain old/ young. Have an albino alligator that likes to pose without moving causing people to question REAL?

This would be really fun for a family. I've been to bigger and better aquariums but it was still a great place to visit.
