Follow the history of the South Carolina port city of Charleston, which dates back more than 300 years, on a horse-drawn carriage tour. We were walking by and decided to stop in. We enjoyed our visit and learned so much history and importance of this building. The tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Great tour of the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon! The staff was very friendly and talked to us about favorite South Carolina spots to tour. We enjoyed reading about George Washington's time spent in Charleston and seeing artifacts. I liked the historical documents throughout the building. The tour guide of the dungeon was great. It was a great educational experience for our daughters. I love that we could give them a real life history field trip on our trip to Charleston. Educators do get a discounted tour.

$10 per adult. Less if you’re military or a teacher. I am a teacher but they didn’t mention the discount until the group right behind us-so-I paid twice as much, but-even though I told them-they didn’t offer to fix it-they really didn’t even comment. But...aside from that, a very nice experience. Dungeon and provost was guided and the other two floors were self-guided. This museum is kind of what you already of it. The guide was pretty good but the other two ladies who were working seemed rather oblivious to our presence. Oldest museum in the area. Come and check this out. You won’t regret it.

Lots of history here. Where the state of South Carolina ratified the constitution and slaves were traded right outside. The dungeon was eye opening. Would highly recommend this site.

My friends and I visited here recently and what a bargain for $10. The staff was amazing -- so helpful and knowledgeable! The tour of the first two floors is self-guided and you can spend as much time as you like. So much information and the restoration is awesome. The tour of the dungeon/basement was very cool and our guide was fab. I learned so much about the history of Charleston and cannot say enough good things about this tour/visit.
