Historic Charleston Guided Sightseeing Walking Tour

735 reviews
Without a guided tour, you’re likely to miss all the tales from Charleston’s rich 400-year history that make this city one of the top destinations in the United States. A guide brings the "Holy City" to life by pointing out the buildings, monuments, and other historic attractions that mark Charleston’s development from an early colonial settlement to the thriving hub of Southern culture that it is today.

City market is still open but with few vendors. Lots of beautiful artisan crafts, clean restrooms and friendly vendors. Well worth the visit.

We last visited the City Market in December 2019 and it was thriving. Due to winter and Covid, there were fewer booths open in January 2021. I was also there on a weekday. I always recommend a visit to the market, but be prepared that there may be fewer vendors than in the past. Even if you are not shopping, it is a great area to walk around and take in the history of Charleston.
