Remember when you were little and you rode your bike everywhere? Bay Street is kinda like that! There's an old style Barber Shop, people eating Gelato peering into shop windows, crooked buildings which once housed pirates, fishermen and soldiers, and views of the bay through narrow, storied alleyways. Bay Street IS Beaufort, plain and simple!

Beautiful addition to downtown. Walk along the bay on the Beaufort River. Watch the boats and fish swim. Almost everything is in walking distance

The water side of Bay Street is lovely, with swings set along the river to watch the boats go by, a couple of parks, and a pavilion for local events. Several restaurants on Bay offer outdoor seating with views to the park and river. The shopping side of Bay is a few blocks of interesting shops and restaurants. It's part... More

Bay Street is a charming American Main Street which is lined with a variety of wonderful shops and restaurants. It was a sunny day and there were a lot of people strolling and enjoying themselves. The shops are a nice change from the usual chain stores at the mall.

At the top of Bay Street you will see some of the most beautiful Antibellum homes in the South. As you stroll down Bay Street you will find very nice restaurants that face out onto the waterfront park and enticing art galleries and gift shops. An altogether pleasant way to spend an hour or two.

Bay st Beaufort used to be far more vibrant. We are loosing the fun spots and Bay I see becoming a gray garden rather than a venue for all ages. Years ago we enjoyed music and nightlife, this past month it was hard to find any enjoyment after 8:30. According to the downtown locals there is a movement to push... More

Bay street is the hub of Beaufort. Lost of little shops and art galleries. The park long the bay is a wonderful place to just sit and watch the activity. On occasion you might get to see the old bridge that turns when the tall boats come through.

Antebellum homes line a street between moss draped oaks, beside a beautiful bay. Colorful marshes frame the bay and you may passing sailboats on their way to the marina. Restaurants view the bay and feature outdoor dining and excellent southern cuisine. Enjoy swinging in a large park, or browsing through unique shops. You just can't find a more perfect place...
