Rows of white tombstones, swaying palms. A very moving sight. Be sure to see the Airborne Monument where the road divides-designed by the late Michael Pearson, who is buried nearby.

My great great grandfather is buried here at this beautiful cemetery. When we were visiting our son we decided to take a detour and find my relative. The setting is so pretty with the moss hanging off the trees.

We buried my father in law here this past week. It is a very pretty location. The services are timed and very structured. I can understand why but it's just different than we were accustomed to.

Well laid out military cemetery with graves from Civil War to present. If you like history, worth a 1/2 hour or so.

This military cemetery is stunning. Great grassy lawns with palmetto trees and angel oaks, covering with Spanish moss, swaying in the gentle, skin-caressing Southern breeze. A beautiful place to quietly meditate on our fallen heroes.

A beautiful, dignified memorial and resting place for those who have served in our US military forces.

The cemetery has many veteran graves from all conflicts. It is laid out in a circular manner and is easy to walk or drive around. There are differences in the Civil War headstones to indicate which side they fought on.

This was a time to reflect on the thousands who have served our country, many of whom gave the ultimate sacrifice. A well kept final resting place for those to whom we own so much.

If you want to recognize our nations past and the many women who served to defend our values you can’t miss the Beaufort National. Cemetary which celebrate our selfless veterans

The weather was cool and rainy but seemed befitting to visit the graves of so many veterans. There is a map to show different areas and we went to the office to look up a name as well.

Regrettably, there is no public transportation linking southern (Hilton Head) and northern (Beaufort), county that I am aware of.
