The Biomes Center is New England's only private marine education facility and the most hands-on aquarium in the region. We've been providing interactive marine biology programs for schools and families since 1989.

We specialize in teaching children and adults about the marine animals of Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

We offer public hours, special events, classes, field trips, in-class programs, and birthday parties.

Our first visit to Biomes Marine Biology Center was with a class trip. My child and I couldn't wait to take Pa.

The saying, "don't judge a book by it's cover," is just what you'll say when you've entered Biomes from the understated location. The site is very large and includes educational spaces, reading space, many, many hands-on activities including live animals. There's a lot to see. Take your time and don't hesitate to ask questions. The associates are happy to talk... More

I was one of the mom's present at the gift shop when you came in, left and then came back again suddenly confrontational. You're account of this interaction is highly inaccurate. i would recommend Biomes to anyone unconditionally.... My son and I frequently visit there. He loves it and has learned more there then at any other aquarium.

We went there after our child received a card for a free entry at the location listed. We drove 45min to the location. Once inside I was already disappointed. It is set-up like a pet store and overall ambiance is not what is expected. The owner proceeds to mark our card and states that each person would receive $2 off... More

It doesn't look like much from the outside but it is awesome for kids and adults. I actually prefer it to Mystic Aquarium because this is more hands on. You can pet sand sharks, skates, etc and they allow you to feed them at feeding time. A big hit with the kids and parents. Definitely pleasantly surprised

This is a marine educational center/aquarium that looks deceptively small and blah from the outside. However, once inside, you are blown away by the array of sea life on exhibit. We had gone to the New England Aquarium a few days earlier in Boston, and hands down, we spent more time here and the kids enjoyed this place more. There... More

Great educational place for both kids and adults. I thoroughly enjoyed chaperoning the school field trip there. I would recommend it for all ages.

We had a birthday party at Biomes- it was fantastic- they kids ages 7-8 loved it. There are a lot of amazing hands on activities and incredible marine life to see. The guides are good and were really patient with large groups.

We have been several times since it has moved onto post road. They do a great job. We have been a few times for birthday parties also. The into mot setting it great for a more personal experience. There are several areas with "hands on" that the kids love.

The folks know their stuff and willing to take time to explain. We took middle school grandchildren and they were interested. It was pricey for the 45 minutes spend there.

If you have kids (of any age) this is a fun place to visit - very hands on. Touch a shark, pick up a crab or just read all the informative info on the walls. Yes, it's located across from an old strip mall but no matter. Once you're in it's all fun.
