Can't really say too much about the area as it was a little cool this time of the year for our visit. Lighthouse area was very rocky with rough waters that the surfers seemed to like. Tough to walk to the beach from here as there is a steep drop off. For a good beach, try the public areas with... More

Never been to this part of Rhode Island before, but we found ourselves with a few hours to burn, so we headed to Narragansett. Quintessential New England coastal town. The homes and architecture have that look and feel. It's beautiful. We didn't walk the beach as there were quite a few people there out for a stroll even though it... More

This town is famous for the beach, the surfing, the rich old mansions on the water, the seafood! This last item brings so many visitors here! But we have to add the great restaurants, the small boutique stores and all the people that make this town so alive!

My grandmother lives here so every summer we come down and spend 1 to 2 weeks at the beach. This beach has HUGE waves and great for surfing/boogie boarding. Also at the end of the beach is a current which you can bring a raft and float on it till the end. This beach has "dels" which is well known... More

Super beach! Great waves for boogie boarding. Surf lessons available from local surf shop. Get to town early for free parking on the street. Good facilities that are cleaned regularly. Lots of lifeguards. No dogs. No alcohol. No smoking. No boom boxes -- good for families. You can bring food in but beware the seagulls - they are very aggressive.... More

Definitely worth the entrance fee. Parking is an issue so get their early as they have consolidated all non-Narragansett residents to the small parking area across the street.

For the locals or those with their nose in the air. Not a fan at all of this beach. It's great because of its location, but I don't like the people there....

We stopped nearby this beach in the early morning when it was foggy. A lot of small fishermen-boats nearby the beach. It was easy to park, and totally not crowded.

Narragansett town beach. I routinely visit the area and the beach. The beach is never crowded, very clean, never loud or invasive music just the peaceful ocean with great people all enjoying the splendor. The facilities are clean and the food on and around the beach is great ! One of my most favorite places on earth, any time, any... More
