I love photography and the photos of the birds, bunnies, and animals are some of my favorites. But its the pictures of the rock and the sea that take my breath away.

We opted to walk around the whole perimeter of the refuge, walking around to see the coastal views. The trails were well-maintained. If you are nervous about ticks, wear long pants as there is tall grass everywhere.

This refuge is one of the best walks in RI, running along the coast just 5 minutes from Newport. If you are a birder this is your place! In winter the birding is even better.

We also hiked on the rocks on the waterfront - challenging and beautiful - opportunity to commune with nature!

Come here to get a break from the crowds, soak in a little nature. 1.2 and 1.5 mile loop walks also make for a good running path if need be. Scenic views of Newport, Middletown, and across the way to the big houses of Little...More

In some ways, the "best" spot is at Sachuset Point itself, which is between shoreline access points 2 and 4 on the refuge map that you can get at the headquarters or can download online (can't list the URL here due to TA... More

Its open, check on visitors center hours, sure it would be rough going with all the snow, trails aren't cleared. But some good viewing if you're up to it. Skis or snow shoes???
