Nice place to walk and get away from town

Sachuest NWR is one of my favorite places anywhere. If you want a quiet walk, want to enjoy breathtaking coastal scenery (including, if you're lucky, a view of Sakonnet Light in the distance way across the bay), want to watch the lovely variety of birds...More

The sanctuary is located on the ocean. There is an excellent visitor center with a gift shop, where you can pick up a map. There are only two loop trails (total of just under 3 miles). It is walking, not hiking, really. There are no...More

Its open, check on visitors center hours, sure it would be rough going with all the snow, trails aren't cleared. But some good viewing if you're up to it. Skis or snow shoes???
