This was one of our best finds of all that we have done in the Newport area. We walked along both of the trails that wound around the ocean. The trails were exceptionally well-kept, and the views were spectacular. Since it's a wildlife refuge, there...More

Park early or take your bikes...it is crowded in the summer...can be very sandy on a windy day but hey it's a beach! Clean and salty air.

I come here in the summer and fall to soak up vitamin D and take pictures. Always clean, not too over crowded (depending on the day) and it close to restaurants. I prefer to come here more so than beaches in Narragansett.

This is listed under Sachuest Beach, but the NWR is its own parking and has a visitor's center with clean bathrooms and a tiny gift shop. We walked on the Ocean's Loop and it was empty because of the overcast cool weather. But the views...More

I decided to take my Springer Spaniel, Rigsby, to the beach for an afternoon. I didn't want to drive any major highways so chose to find a dog friendly beach in RI. Sachuest Beach (Second Beach) came up in google. It is a beautiful beach,...More

Nice beach for walking or kite flying in April when we were there, and the nearby nature reserve had nice flat walking loop with Ocean and Bay views and birds. Some people were fishing.

Drive past first beach without a care in the world and head over to 2nd beach. It's a beautiful beach. Found it while attending Salve and it was a regular hot spot for all of us in the late summer, early Spring. Never was overcrowded...More

Arrive early, bring cash for a Del's Lemonade! Surfer's end is our favorite area to watch the kids, adults and surfing classes.

We love to walk the beach any time of year. Dogs can go on the beach as long as they are leashed in the off-season and before 7:45 during the summer. We love that! Incredible view of Saint George's and cliffs. Fun for families with...More

Wondering about parking for nonresidents off season (as in this weekend). We will be in town for Salve graduation and would like to go to either surfers end or second beach. Are facilities open? If there is non permit parking cost? Any details appreciated!

Can you stay at the beach after the lifegaurds leave? And can you stay there until like 7pm or 8pm?

Yes! That's the best time of day after most people leave. It's very peaceful, but swim at your own risk.

Hello, I am asking if there is a life guard after labor day and do the bathrooms stay open after labor day. If so, for how long. Thank you.

I'm not sure, but you could contact the town of Middletown since the website doesn't have this info.
