This is a fun place to Polk around in. The lay of the land has a very comfortable, backyard feel to it with many nooks and crannies to dip into to peruse. I love seeing all unique items from many different places and from what...More

Awesome spot for a day of perusing. The gardens are beautiful and we bought many unusual beautiful plants to take home. Small farm with chickens running around. Lots of great stores.

Totally did not meet expectations. The few shops in here mostly carried junk. You can get stuff like this in any tourist shop in the area. Would not recommend making this a destination itself.

Not just for shopping, the Fantastic Umbrella Factory has magical gardens and exotic animals--emus, ducks and goats. We miss the peacocks of course but they are no longer there. There is also a delicious organic cafe on the premises. As to the shopping--lots of local...More

We live in Charlestown, so we often get summer visitors who want to check out the Umbrella Factory. Once a year is the perfect frequency for visiting, as things don’t change all that much from year to year, but, just enough to make it worth...More

I've been coming here since I was a child and love the art and gardens here. It's quirky and fun, and something different. My 16 year old son was bored, but I recommend for little kids and grownups.

I first visited in 1968 when the umbrella factory opened and going back takes me back to that time. I love the variety of things to look at and do here. Thank you for keeping the doors open and the memories alive!

I used to love this place. Our last visit was almost 9 years ago. It has lots of eclectic gifts and was fun to browse. We toured all of the shops and honestly, there just wasn't that much. The employees seemed annoyed we were bothering...More

Seemed like just another tourist trap. There were a few animals and the Bamboo maze was neat. But seemed like every little shop sold the same hippy stuff that was cool in the 1960s. Would have loved to see some local art/crafts for sale. Looked...More

There really is no good answer! There is a sign on the property that pretty much says there's no good reason!
