An optical illusion from the front, a huge surprise once your inside!

It appears like a small dinky building from the entrance but once your inside it opens up to a huge cavernous space filled with used books, videos, cd's, some antiques, comics, posters and an odd assortment of stuff. I can spend a few hours getting lost in the rows of ever changing stuff. Its just a fun place to go... More

A lot of used books of various genre and ages. Comic books and music as well. I try to visit a couple times a year when I am in York. A very cool place.

The York Emporium offers more than books, they have a variety of items, mostly used, but all interesting and in good condition. They have a ton of books, they have games, music, dvds,.... it is actually overwhelming. It is a very large store that appears small and quaint from out front. The front entrance is located in a small parking... More

I feel like I found a bookstore designed for me. Books and artifacts of the 19th and 20th century. Kitch and clutter in a used book library. I found books on historical York and some of the world's great literature along side comics and star wars games. Great place for kids and adults and the only skill you need for... More

As bookstores go the way of the dinosaur, it's refreshing to find a local bookstore that offers its customers an escape from the hectic pace of life. Check out an incredibly large selection of used books, collectibles and eccentric employees who make your visit all the more memorable.

The York Emporium is so much more than a book store. There are collectibles and weird things that you wont find anywhere else. Then there are the special events hosted throughout the year. Go by and say hi to Jim Lewin - he is the magic that makes this a destination location!

Bring your adventurous spirit as you come here. The used book selection is awesome and the prices are great. I love the selection of DVDs. Whenever I have a question about a book or an author, the staff are very helpful and give good suggestions! I would go here more often if I could. I recommend this place to all... More

Went to York Emporium, twice in two days on a recent trip to York. I am a reader, and there are so many books!!! The signs are impressive and the sheer number of books is wonderful. They also have comics and original art and antiques. A great destination, especially on a rainy day!

If you enjoy used book stores, you'll love this one. This is the opposite of the cookie cutter box stores. The DVD collection was impressive in volume and variety. Odd treasures are waiting to be found!

This is not your average book store. This is no Barnes & Nobles, no Books a Million so leave those expectations at the door. This is a warren, a maze, of used books. If you are a book lover, chances are you will enjoy your experience at York Emporium where one can't help but wander aisles teaming with books covering... More
