We've been on the dinner train twice now. This time they were late boarding. The food while good was cooked off site. Last time there was a chef on board and the dinner was cooked on the train. It was definitely better then. You have assigned seating with 4 to a table. If there are two of you, you will... More

A visit to the Tioga Central Railroad was included in our itinerary of a motor coach tour in central NY and northern PA. There were about 40 in our tour. After a morning visit to the Ole Covered Wagon ride nearby we embarked on the Tioga Central Railroad for a luncheon ride. The train attendees were friendly and tried to... More

We did the 5 pm ride. Sat in the open air car. Beautiful views on the 2hr trip. We did not eat in the dining car...just did the ride. It is something to experience on your stay.

If someone has not ridden an older railroad train, this would be a nice experience. However, the tourist value for anyone familiar with trains already was limited. I would suggest some audio or video explanation of the route be provided; otherwise it was just like taking the 6:15 into town, but more expensive. There was a nice market called Pagomar... More

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely evening on the train. We met new people, had a delicious meal and enjoyed the view of the endless mountains, farm fields, and the lake. Nice easy ride as we ate our meal but a little faster pace for the return trip. Two hours well spent.

My husband and I did the sunset dinner train ride and absolutely loved it! One of the highlights of our trip. The ride was about 2.5 hours with a full meal served included coffee and dessert which we weren't expecting! Lovely scenery, peaceful. We enjoyed walking through each car to get to the outdoor open air train cabin for the... More

We really enjoyed our relaxing trip. It took us to a lake where we saw a bald eagle. We had an open air car so the view's were good. I only rated it as average because there's honestly not much to see for most of the trip. If you are really into trains, that's one thing.
