While the event that took place here was monumental, the site is underwhelming. The "educational" center provides minimal information and beside the actual rescue capsule, the other artifacts are generic. Outside, the actual site is just that - where it happened with minimal explanations, etc....More

Did not know this were in the area, a true hidden spot. the story behind it is wonderful, still a working mine underground today.

Visited as part of bus tour to Flight 93 memorial. Speaker was excellent having been there during the 2002 rescue and knowing some of the trapped miners and rescuers. Appreciated being able to also tour the museum and outside items including the rescue capsule and...More

our hotel was as it turned out only 10 mins away, we made the drive and were glad we did, will come back again as we were too early but what we saw was interesting.

Too long a presentation, with inaccuracies and inappropriate references. The presenter admitted that she was not present for the rescue and then began to speak authoritatively about the happenings. We're glad the miners were rescued, but the presentation was nearly as long as their 78...More

Its a place to say I've seen it and done it. It was an okay place. There is a board there you can read to learn a little more.

It was interesting to be able to share this with grand kids Would recommend it to all. Anyone with kids should go here and tell them whst the miners had to endure Was very educational.

This is a beautiful tribute to a terrible mining incident that actually had a happy ending. Terrific place to take kids as a learning experience, many pieces of equipment available for viewing etc.
