We have traveled to Strasburg Rail Road on many occasions for a quiet relaxing event, we have traveled in all the cars, the lunch car in particular is a favorite of the kids! The staff is always helpful and friendly. Seriously couldn't make it better if they tried - oh wait they did my adding the Thomas the Tank events... More

This was our 1st time - 2 adults, 1 14yr old & 1 9yr old. We all four LOVED it! The village was really cute with all of the shops and photo opps. We rode in the coach car and it was totally worth it. We rode through beautiful farmland and were told interesting facts about different places along the... More

Our family, four adults and two young children, rode in one of the coach cars--comfortable and beautifully restored. The ride is through a beautiful area and includes interesting commentary.

This is a fun trip on the largest privately owned track in the country. The trip goes through Amish country and they switch the engine to the other side of the train to go back when they hit Amtrak tracks. You can get off at a picnic ground and they will get you later in the day if you want.... More

A very pleasant train ride through beautiful Lancaster county. We rode in the warmer months but I am intrigued by the coal stoves on board and would love to do a a winter ride some time.

The Strasburg is a wonderful place, but this review is specifically about the Wine & Cheese train with accommodation in the "President's Car." Let's begin with the train car itself: it is worth paying top fair. The car is a classic observation platform car with a lounge and private rooms. Couples can ride in solitude in the rooms, a very... The train was well cared for and it was interesting to learn the history. We were in the VIP Section, which was very comfortable. But, the train goes only 15 minutes or so down the tracks, stops at a very run down building and the engine switches directions and you come back. The scenery is somewhat interesting but really not... More

I'm really surprised by the hype this railroad gets. It's not that great. I envisioned seeing a lot of cool things in Lancaster (like Amish people, hello!) from the train. But instead, I saw woods, some houses in the distance, more woods, and then came back on the same track. I thought it would be super fun for my kids,... More

Dear NohaM83, Thank you for your candid feedback. We are sorry you did not enjoy your experience more! While you may not have seen any Amish residents during your ride, you did pass through thousands of acres of Amish and English farmland. Many times during the year, you will see Amish farmers working in their fields. Unfortunately it sounds as... More
