Cool piece of history

You can tour throughout the submarine. Also, it is linked to the Science Center, so once you have purchased tickets to the museum, then you can head out and tour the sub.

Because my hubby was on submarines the tour guides really got a lot of info from him. I had to leave because of the Diesel smell.

Part of the Carnegie Science Center & a must see. George (guide in torpedo room) was excellent & had served on a sub similar to the Requin. He graciously shared some of his memories of life on a sub which made our tour very memorable. Each area had a electronic display to get addt'l info. Once we let the 5... More

What a pleasant surprise to find this submarine right out in the Ohio River! Was not expecting that. Take a minute and check it out when in Pittsburgh!

WOW...The USS Reguin was and awesome addition to the Science center. Its a self guided walking tour through history. amazing how this sub became and how it operated. sitting in the seats, looking at the dials and gauges. Amazing this boat even worked! Awesome photos opportunities inside and outside sub. Well worth the price of admission!

This is a neat little side trip to see from the Carnegie Science Center. If you're claustrophobic then maybe stay away. It is a tight fit but it is neat to see some of the old things inside. The kids like it.

Visited the USS Requin while visiting the Carnegie Science Center with my 7 year old daughter. She liked it so much we went through twice. The submarine is in excellent shape they allow you to walk through a good portion of the sub. It's amazing to see the size on the living quarters. There is plenty of parking at the... More

My dad served on this class of Submarine. He was at Pearl when it was bombed. I got to teach my kids all about this sub and I knew more than the staff was working there. I got to tell stories that my father relayed to me of what life was like on the sub. It was a grand ole... More

Linked in with the ticket price for the Carneige Science Museum was entry to the USS Requin. It was rather exciting to clamber down in to the hold of a Cold War submarine and to clamber through the hatchways. I do not envy the cramped life of submariners. There were 4 of us and we felt cramped! Sadly we could... More

The people on board do a great job explaining the sub. It is very interesting to explore and reminds me that I don't want to be on a sub!
