The number and variety of birds was really small. The cages were small and the thick wire mesh around many of the enclosures made it difficult to see the birds. The enclosures for the Andean condors were downright depressing considering their normal habitat.

It's definitely a worth while place to visit. They have these three gigantic vultures that you can see outside before you enter. Once inside it's just a pleasure to see a whole selection of birds from hanging bats to baby penguins. There are lots and lots of birds.

Penguins up close. Baby owls. California Condors and more. An amazing array of birds from around the world presented in large enclosures many of which you can walk through while birds walk and fly around you. Great for children of all ages if you know what I mean. A GREAT NEW FEATURE AVAILABLE IN ONLY 2 PLACES IN THE UNITED... More

Fairly small but nice place to visit in Pittsburgh. Can occupy about 2hrs depending on how fast you stroll. Regularly scheduled feeding sessions for exhibits was a nice touch.

I'm sure some people will have different experiences here but I was pretty bummed out at seeing eagles, ospreys and other birds in spaces that just seemed way too small. I've been to most tourist attractions in Pittsburgh and this one was not a hit with me.

With recent improvements to the grounds and to the exhibits, I must say this this place has recovered nicely. I think it's still a little pricey, especially if you want to take part in the special feedings and other experiences. The exhibits were well populated and the birds were very active. It could still use some work, but its moving... More

Great place and very interesting for all ages. In some areas you have to watch where you are going - the birds will be walking with you and flying overhead within a few feet. Make sure you check the times for the live bird performances in the theatre. In April the shows were just twice a day and the live... More

This facility has a number of walk-through habitats that showcase free-flying small birds from around the world. The large raptors such as the eagles are in natural-looking enclosures, which allow you to see them up-close. The penguins were pretty frisky while we were there, and the tropical habitat was alive with calls, since we arrived at feeding time. It was... More

We arrived for Mother's Day brunch. Lovely outside tent area in rose garden. Food items were very good. Cash bar. Chilly day so heaters were appreciated. Multiple birds shared including owl, parrot and penguin. Admission to aviary included in brunch. We spent several hours viewing all areas of aviary. Great place for all ages. Lots of sitting areas.
