Shadyside quaint little shopping area with a few bars and restaurants. Unfortunately we went late at night so most of the stores are closed but I could see spending a few hours here just wandering around. Mario's looked loud and busy so we settled for Cappy's, as we wanted to sit and talk. Nice little bar.

Since we couldn't find a place in Pittsburgh to stroll around and do some shopping in stores and boutiques , we took a cab to Shadyside . It has lots of small shops to browse in , as well as nice restaurants.

Shadyside is an upscale, trendy area of Pittsburgh with a variety of shops, boutiques, restaurants, coffee houses, bars, lounges and much more. It is an area of beautiful Victorian homes. Shadyside is another one of Pittsburgh's many diverse neighborhoods

If you like almonds (Most Nutritious), you must try their almond cake. The texture if fairly light and moist and the icing is just sweet enough. They are almost always busy, which is the best recommendation.

My son just moved to Shadyside and I visited from NJ. I would compare Shadyside to a smaller Hoboken for those who are aware of NJ's gentrified very hip and hot city. Shadyside has a young, upscale crowd with lovely homes, restaurants, and shops. It's very walkable and parking and traffic is not nearly as difficult as in my NY/NJ... More

Fun place in Pittsburgh to explore! Definitely pay a visit to Walnut St. Mercurios, Cafe Moulin, and Shady Grove are wonderful, and Cappy's is a hidden gem. Prantl's burnt almond torte is to die for!!

Had some extra time when in Pittsburgh and took some advice and went to Shadyside. We were able to drive around and see wonderful homes of many different architectural styles. Then we parked and went to the shops for a look, had a coffee and a light lunch, really a fun place to people watch and whatever else you might... More

Walk to fabulous shops ...from Henne jewelers to the card shop or old fashioned toy store you can visit a Japanese restaurant for bubble tea, or a great bakery for treats...Make it a half day experience - you won't regret the extra time. Hidden in a pocket neighborhood with charming houses at every turn Shadyside has much to offer. exceptional!

One of the nicest areas in Pittsburgh. Has a small town feel to it, even though its part of large city. Feels safe to walk around at any time of day. We were there for 3 days and had food and drinks in the area.
