We were in Pittsburgh for just one night and wanted to have a city experience while staying away from the busy streets. So Mount Washington it was and given that the two of the 18 historical inclines are still in use they were the obvious choice. Monongahela got the upper hand compared to Duquesne just cause of its location next... More

How can you not enjoy this historic ride with the awesome view of the city. Once you get to the top you have the lookouts, ice cream and several restaurants on Grandview ave

This is worth doing if only to turn around and come back down. The view is wonderful and it's a quick slice of history. If you have time, go at sunset and have a glass of wine at one of the many restaurants on the top. The view is wonderful.

This is a gentle ride. You can park up at mount Washington and take the incline to the lower section of Market area along the river. It is a great way to take a walking tour .... Highly recommend.

This old time ride up the hill is fun for everyone. Kids will love it. The view from the top of the rivers and downtown is not to be missed

Nothing too exciting but something you should experience when you're in Pittsburgh. Catch it up the hill to take in the great views of Mount Washington, or catch it down the hill to check out Station Square and the many restaurants and shops they have to offer. A one way trip is $2.50 for an adult or you can pay... More

The best view of the city, a fun ride and a bit of history all in one. You can't leave Pittsburgh without riding this lovingly preserved 145 year old transportation system!

This incline is on the opposite end of the high end restaurants on Grandview. This puts you out near Shiloh street. I recommend DiFiore's ice cream if it's summer. Shiloh Grille is close by and is a good place to eat. Amazing view of downtown and right across the street from Station Square.

We visited at a good time. Got on the first tram available going up, and it wasn't that pricey to do it. At the top, we got to soak up the views and found some places to snack and eat dinner. The food at the top was nothing special we just ate there since we were hungry and wanted to... More

Inclines are few and far between in today's cities. Pittsburgh is lucky to have two really good ones going up to Mt. Washington. Both offer amazing views of the city and the rivers. It is an inexpensive way to have a historic experience.
