Hi! We're having a great time at Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and the only thing missing is you. MAKESHOP, our tinkering space, has real tools and materials such as wood, sewing machines, hammers, nails, a loom, animation station and more. Jump right in, that circuit isn't going to build itself! The Art Studio is calling for your creative energy to design and ink a silkscreen, paint, sculpt clay and create something unique alongside the many working artists who visit. Young ones, you are royalty in the Nursery, a space filled with colors, shapes and textures perfect for your growing minds and bodies. The Attic, Garage and Waterplay (because it's just not fun until your underwear is soaked) round out the permanent exhibits. But not so fast. From marching bands, slam poets and cultural traditions to letters that fall from the ceiling and a crawling maze made out of packing tape, our temporary exhibits, performers, programs, artists-in-residence and artwork are particularly awesome too. If we don't hear the protests of departing kids at the end of each day, we're not doing our jobs right.

This was a very nice museum with lots of hands on activities. There was a whole water level which was really cool if you came prepared to get wet. There was a craft area which would appeal to older kids that seemed very nice. There...More

This is one of the best children museum I ever visited. It is big and you can spend here at least 3-4 hours (if not more). A lot of hands-on experiences and exhibitions, and places where kids can build/create and learn. There is a parking...More

We went here because of an Elephant and Piggie story time, and ended up staying for hours. The entire place is hands-on for kids, so even our older kids (7 and 9) had a great time. Everyone has asked to be able to go again...More

For the cost to get into the museum - I did not find value in this visit. At most, plan an hour or two. If you have older kids (over 5) - most of the areas are too 'young' for them. If you do go...More

We brought our three children (ages 9, 6, and 2) to the Children's Museum for a mini family vacation. This was my second time at the museum, and the second time for two of my children (the first time being on a school field trip)....More

I really want to write a good review for this museum, but there really isn’t anything good about the place. The Children’s Museum holds so much potential for being a great place, but it falls warily, wearily, and woefully short. My son never gets bored,...More
