The Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Carnegie Art Museum are connected and included with a single admission. Always a plus. But I've been coming here since I was a child and have always preferred the natural history side to the art side. The museum...More

Set in the middle of the university with all its impressive buildings was very simple to find. We walked from the Oakland district and took about 20 mins. $20 each we found expensive given our museums are free.

We visited here recently with a group of family and friends. The museum is nothing short of spectacular with iconic dinosaurs (in most cases, the real thing from the museum's own research work), spectacular minerals, and mammal dioramas that are historic but still impressive. As...More

Like the Tardis, this museum is bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside! Easily spend hours here. Wonderful art spanning centuries and amazing natural history displays; something for everyone.

I visited here 15 years ago. I enjoyed at that time. Though almost all the exhibitions have not changed, I enjoyed again. It is attached to art museum. Going out, I almost lost my way.... Some signs or indications must be needed.

Stopped by to specifically see the Egyptian part of the museum. The collection is one of the better ones that I have seen. We also went through the dioramas of the animals from the various areas. There is so much between this and the art...More

We went with my 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. Staff was very nice. Our tour guide for the dinosaurs was fantastic and was able to keep small kids entertained. Would definitely reccomend this place for families.
